Dell Inspiron 9100

Background

The Dell Inspiron 9100 featuring the Intel 4 3.2ghz processor. The laptop has a rotating monitor. On the laptop itself contains 1DVI, 1VGA, two pcmcia slots, 4 USB, 1 Firewire, video, 10/100 ethernet/modem, mic, and headphones; very nice. A great screen resolution (1600x1200 at 60hz) can accomidate just about any application, and then some! Like all modern laptops, it can handle two monitors (LCD and external attached). Total weight is roughly 10lbs. Way heavy, but in the day, great horsepower.

Make sure you update to the latest BIOS (A06). Without it, the fans forget to stop if and when you restore from S3 (Sleep) mode. With the three (3) fans for cooling it tends to sound like a jet landing without the slowdown.
